Our
Story

Tradition preserved, renewed with every vintage

Clos Darmon is a boutique winery rooted in a family story that spans continents generations and a quiet devotion to the land. The name carries with it memories of the original Darmon vineyard in the hills of Medea in Algeria where the family first cultivated grapes more than a century ago.

The vineyard may no longer stand yet its spirit continues to guide the work done today.

The modern expression of Clos Darmon was born from a desire to honor that heritage while embracing the richness of Israeli terroir. Here in the eastern Mediterranean the climate the soils and the diversity of varietals offer new possibilities. These possibilities are shaped with the same respect patience and craft that defined the family’s early winemaking traditions.

A central part of the winery’s philosophy is the careful sourcing of grapes. Each year Clos Darmon selects fruit from the best vineyards available choosing parcels according to the conditions of the season the character of the terroir and the reputation of growers who consistently produce exceptional fruit. This flexible approach ensures that every vintage begins with the finest raw material allowing the wine to express both the landscape and the year in which it was grown.

Clos Darmon produces its wines in small quantities with a focus on authenticity and character. The journey begins in the vineyard and continues in the cellar where French winemaking techniques meet the individuality of local varietals. The result is wine that reflects both legacy and place a blend of memory craftsmanship and contemporary expression.

At the heart of the winery stands winemaker Avishay Darmon whose dedication continues the family journey. His hands and intuition guide the transformation of fruit into wine and each bottle carries his vision of elegance honesty and simplicity.

Clos Darmon is more than a winery. It is a continuation of a family story a tribute to heritage and a celebration of the land that now gives the wines their voice. Visitors and collectors are invited to share in this journey one glass at a time.
